Heinrich Hohmann Raffle
TICKETS FOR SALE AT THE FESTIVAL (UNTIL 1pm on SUNDAY)- VISIT THE AKF STALL IN THE MAIN MARQUEE!
Heinrich Hohmann is one of Europe’s leading up and coming single line kite designers. He is an industrial architect from the Black Forest in Germany who has had a lifelong interest in kites.
His unique style blends together the most traditional of kites, the Edo, with the most modern contemporary and minimalist design. He started getting noticed in 2002 when he won the 1st prize at the German championships for his work ‘Six Colours White’ a stunning piece of works where, although if everything in this kite is white, it’s not just white!
Heinrich made his first visit to Bristol in 2008 where the knowledgeable crowd appreciated his amazing art. In May he won first place in the first FlyNY competition, an international kite design competition sponsored by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.
When he heard that Bristol was having problems he made an incredibly generous offer of one of his stunning hand painted creations, his Edo ‘Tapes’ kite. This is your chance to win this lovely kite and help Bristol Kite Festival at the same time by buying a raffle ticket. The kite has only been flown 3 or 4 times and is in virtually perfect condition. It is over 2m high and has seventeen bridles each 30 m long.
Heinrich does not sell his kites - he makes them to enjoy them. So, if you want one of his kites then you need to buy a raffle ticket!
