Other fun stuff

The Kite Festival has lots of other great things to see and do for kids of all ages (even the grown-up ones)!

Here's some of the other fun things you can enjoy on the ground. Check back for further updates...

Wind Garden and Orchestra

Robert Valkenburgh from Holland has assembled a fantastic array of musical instruments which ‘play’ in the wind. These include Aeolian harps, a variety of strings, bells and flutes, representing traditional instruments from all over the world which create a constantly changing musical performance.

Kite Making workshops

Avon Kite Flyers will be holding free children's kite making workshops in the main information marquee. Suitable for young children, these workshops will transform household materials into a simple kite. Listen out for annoucements over the Festival weekend and check the main information marquee for details!

Thai Kite Heritage Group will be running free workshops for older children set against the backdrop of a wonderful display of traditional Thai kites and the materials and tools used to make them.

Jump and Slide

Have a go on a bouncy castle or whizz down a giant slide - visit Funtastia or Barley and Sons to jump, bounce and slide. Or to get your kicks visit 'Kids Kaos' football, try your hand at the latest craze for Zorbing or reach new heights on bouncy trampolines.

...and there will be balloons, airbrush tattoos, face painting, henna tatoos and hair braiding too!
